Please help Scott Dawes get through this crisis

Hi, my name is Cathy Allen. I am starting this Go Fund Me for Scott Dawes. Scott went back into Seton Hospital on 38th in Austin last Thursday and will probably remain there until next Thursday. He had surgery yesterday afternoon to drain a tremendous amount of fluid from his lung, requiring an 8" incision. Seton doctors said it was the most significant blockage they'd seen in a decade. They believe he has had pneumonia and the flu for at least three months, which coincides with how long he has felt shortness of breath and fevers, causing him to be unable to work consistently.

This crisis has taken an alarming toll on Scott's ability to make ends meet. We believe Medicare will cover most of the medical costs. However, I hope to raise $5,000 to help Scott pay his bills. He is three months behind on his car payments and had to let his car insurance lapse. SS covers Scott's rent, but he works DoorDash to pay for all other essentials. It may be a few weeks before Scott can get back to doing DD.

Scott is a dear friend I have known since I moved to Austin in 1990. He is 'Uncle Scott' to my menagerie of cats and dogs and often helps me take the dogs to the park and do other chores. Scott is a kind and caring person, as you all know. 100% of all funds raised will go directly to Scott to help him weather this storm during his recovery until he can get back to work.
