Please help Spider walk again! URGENT!

Donation protected
Hey everyone! My little guy Spider is injured and it's absolutely breaking my heart!

Spider turned 4 on January 25th so is still a young boy who really loves life and wants the chance to walk again! He is a Pekingese dog.

On Saturday morning I went to let him out to the toilet and found him paralysed in his bed. He has no motor function in his back right leg and his left leg is weak.

I rushed him to the vet to find out he more than likely had a trauma (at some point) that has caused a bulged disc in the middle of his back.
He has no feeling responses in his back legs and doesn't pull them back away from being touched. The only time he showed real pain was when she was feeling the middle of his back. He didn't cry out though...his eyes bulged and he held his breath.

Spider was sent home on strict rest instructions with pain medications and a list of places to call to see a specialist for an urgent MRI and surgery before he loses all use of his back half permanently.

I'm absolutely devastated at the thought of losing my furbaby. I can't currently afford such a huge surgery for him and he needs it sooner rather than later. As a single parent currently on benefits vetpay isn't able to help further. I've already used them for his emergency vet visits with not much left available. He is currently needing to have rechecks every 2nd day.

Spider has been unable to pass urine himself so I had to take him to the Dandenong VRH (Vetinary Referral Hospital) on Sunday where they ended up using a catheter to empty his bladder.
The vet did further tests including inflicting pain, (made me sad), which his most affected leg has responded to as "deep pain".
She suggested a fund-raiser (as did my friends) to help Spider get an urgent MRI to confirm the problem and then surgery after to fix it and save his legs. She said that his full recovery percentage is currently at 90% but if he gets worse that drops dramatically.

He needs to see the specialist asap followed by an MRI. Unfortunately an MRI costs between $3000 and $5000 with adding surgery it jumps to a current quote of $8000.

**UPDATE** Spider has been able to toilet himself when required since being home after having the catheter drain his bladder. This is great news!

So here I am hating the need to ask for help for my baby Spider. My heart is breaking and I want to see my boy playing with my little girl (she's 2.5) and his doggy friends again.
I would be forever grateful for your help even if of only a couple of dollars to get Spider the help he needs as soon as possible!

Spider, Elliana and I thank you for reading this far.

I will keep the fund-raiser updated for you all.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart x

Lynette
