Please help Steve Haug

Hello, my name is Adam, and I am raising money for my father-in-law Steve Haug.
On Monday, September 5th, Steve went to the Emergency Department of Avera in Aberdeen, SD to be evaluated. After many hours and multiple tests, Steve was admitted as an inpatient with a severe blood infection. The medical staff immediately started a regiment of strong antibiotics and ordered additional testing. The nursing staff was wonderful and worked diligently to make him feel better. The following day testing indicated that the infection had formed vegetation on his Mitral Valve, indicating the seriousness of the infection. That night some of the vegetation dislodged from his Mitral Valve, broke into many more pieces, and traveled to his brain, causing a stroke. Imaging was done, and it was determined that there was no way to retrieve the many little pieces from the vascular system within his brain. Fortunately, Steve was still able to mostly function while experiencing some expressive aphasia and processing deficits. On Friday the 9th they performed a TEE, a Transesophageal Echocardiogram. This test indicated that Steve would need to be transferred to a different hospital for open heart surgery. The doctors are talking about sending Steve to another state for his operation. This will all be followed by some rehab in the hopes that he will eventually be able to return home and to work.
For many years Steve has worked as a Self-Employed Plumber. He is very well known in his community and has lived a happy life. Unfortunately, Steve is not a wealthy man. He loved to work as his own boss, but it never afforded him a large income. Steve and his wife are staring down some very large medical bills as well as lost income. Steve is a wonderful man and very devoted to his family. We love him very much, and as hard as this is to do, we are reaching out for help. Anything that can be spared to help Steve and his wife Carla will be appreciated so much more than you could realize. The funds raised will go to support Steve and Carla, to help pay the medical expenses, including medical transportation out of state, and to support loss of income. Even if you can only spare some prayers for him that would mean so much. We pray that the Lord’s Will be done, and if it is His Will to grant us more time with Steve we will gladly take it.
Thank you for taking the time to read Steve’s story. If you are able to help financially that is wonderful, but even your prayers will make a very large difference. We all wish we could thank you in person, but we need to spend time with Steve and Carla right now. May God Bless you and your family, and may you always feel the warm embrace of God holding you in His arms.
Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts.
