Please help support for Lindsay Main

My name is Sarah Gentry and I am fundraising for my twin sister Lindsay Main. Before everything she was a seemingly healthy, ambitious, outgoing, kind hearted 28 year old. She is the sweetest person I know and can make anyone around her feel welcome right away with her warm laughter and smile. She worked as an insurance agent who really fought for her clients and cared for them always going the extra mile to help as much as she could. However, during her job she was forced to miss a significant amount of work due to suffering from multiple health issues that continued to arise. She had seen a gastroenterologist and was diagnosed with IBS-C. She tried testing for allergies and sensitivities, every diet every supplement but she was still suffering from severe constipation and constant bloating. She was also struggling with frequent pelvic pain and reached out to her OBGYN who finally decided to do a laproscopy. Her surgeon removed tissue during the procedure and confirmed she has Endometriosis. After the procedure she was still in significant abdominal pain. She was referred to a vein specialist who performed a venography/angiography and confirmed she has May-Thurner Syndrome. May Thurner Syndrome is caused when the left iliac vein is compressed by the right iliac artery, which increases the risk of deep vein thrombosis in the left extremity and can be life threatening. After finding a 90% blockage in the venogram/angiography, they had to do surgery to place a stent. The stent procedure helped but she was having significant pain especially after eating which was causing her to rapidly lose weight. She was also struggling with nausea, weakness, fatigue, constipation, and she started to run a fever as well. After struggling with severe abdominal pain and fever she went into the ER. They performed an abdominal CT which showed signs of MALs,(Median arcuate ligament syndrome) which is a rare condition in which the median arcuate ligament presses too tightly on the celiac artery and the nerves in the area (celiac plexus). This results in weight loss due to pain usually associated with eating and blood flow, abdominal pain, nausea, etc and can be very debilitating. After further review of all of the tests results, the doctor confirmed Lindsay has MALs Syndrome. They advised her they believe this and the May Thurner-Syndrome could be the cause of her severe pain and other symptoms. Because of all the time away from work battling health issues, Lindsay had no other option but to leave her job because her debilitating pain left her unable work. It was difficult for her to even make it out of bed and walk around. Her doctors suggested she seek treatment for the MALs at the Mayo Clinic. This was because this is still so little known regarding MALs because it is rare, so a specialist would have to treat it. Already drowning in medical bills she was doing her best to manage pain and go to follow up appointments and send everything over to the Mayo for further review. Over this past weekend she had been to the ER 3 times for severe pain. After lots of bloodwork and testing the doctors confirmed she now has Pancreatitis and has since been admitted into the hospital. The doctors suspect this could be a complication of the MALs syndrome thay she is currently fighting to treat. Right now, she is just trying to fight and recover from the Pancreatitis. After that she will have to figure out how to manage the MALs which could require a very serious surgery. Any help would mean so much to her and our family. She is trying to hard to find answers and just get better and understand the illness so she can manage it. After so many tests to get answers and hospital stays and potentially more surgery, she has an impossible amount of medical bills. We are asking for support for her for this very difficult time. This is the most pain she has ever been in before and right now she cant even keep solid food down. The debilitating pain has left her unable to work as she is just focusing now on getting her strength back so she can live life again pain free.
