Help Support Jeff Preston's Fight for Life

On Thursday evening, our amazing husband, brother, son, father, and friend, Jeff Preston, had a massive heart attack and was life flighted to Mercy Fairfield for an emergency heart cath. The heart attack, a widow maker they call it, was caused by a 100% blockage on the left side of his heart. His heart only has 5-10% functionality. During removal of the blockage they found that two other arteries on the right were blocked as well, and his entire heart was completely failing. The doctor saved his life in that moment, but his heart suffered extensive damage. The doctor said, point blank, his only chance of survival was transferring him to UC Health because what he needed was beyond the scope of what they could do for him. After transport to UC CVICU he was put on ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), the highest form of life support. ECMO does the work of the heart but outside of the body; it lets the heart rest to see if it will start to recover. It also promotes recovery for his kidneys and liver, which both took a hit as well. So far his heart hasn’t shown enough improvement to start to come off the support but this is only day three and they say that is not out of the ordinary. If his heart doesn’t show any recovery at some point this week, there's a very real possibility of Jeff requiring a heart transplant.

Please pray for him. But also if you're willing to make a donation, for Jeff, Caylah and Kason to help them through this very difficult time and what will undoubtedly be very expensive medical bills, it would be greatly appreciated and one less thing they have to worry about while Jeff works to heal.
