PLEASE help support my Uncle Robert's Name And His Legacy

Donation protected
My name is Michael Reyes, and I am the nephew of Mr. Robert Griego, who we sadly lost on the morning of Monday, December 30th. Although we know the time must come in our lives when we will eventually have to say goodbye to our elderly friends and family, we are still never emotionally prepared.

There's always that one friend or family member that is outrageously funny and can save a boring night. That was my Uncle Robert. Although he was funny, he could also have a serious conversation and make it heartfelt. He and I shared the same tastes when it came to music (50's doo-wop) and classic cars (1960 and older). My uncle was able to salvage a 1954 Chevy car which belonged to his deceased cousin. In his memory, he rebuilt the car and made it car show worthy and even won a couple of trophies.

Unfortunately, Uncle Robert suffered a stroke which contributed to the loss of vision in one eye and left him with tunnel vision in the other. His driving days had come to an end. But that didn't stop Uncle from continuing to build the car and completing his goals for the car. Knowing my passion for the classics and the love for the car, Uncle had asked me if I could drive him to the car shows since he was unable to. I was honored and gave him an immediate yes.

We had the best times. Waking up at 2 am to drive to Ontario so Uncle could get a good spot for the show was never a concern for me; I was there. I loved every second of our time together.

That's just my brief story, and there are many other family members that have the same great memories and stories.

Friends and family, I'm asking for your help in these hard times. My aunt, who has helped my uncle through these last weeks, is in a tough position. The option is to sell my Uncle's car to help with expenses or raise money. With all my heart, I don't want to see my Uncle's car go. I promised him many times that if something were to happen to him, I would honorably keep the car, never to be sold, and keep it within the family. The car is always going to remind me of my Uncle Robert. I would rather have him here than the car, is what I always told him over and over again. But he also knew deep down that I would stay true to my word and keep the car safe, take care of it, and drive it to car shows in his memory until the time came when I'm not able to drive it anymore.

All I can do is try. I promise you all who donate, with all my heart, regardless if it's not enough to save the car, all donations go to family who have helped with expenses.

Uncle Robert, I love you, I'll miss you forever.
All I can do is try..........

Thank you all
