Please help support our friends Barb, Taryn, and Gracie!

Hello and thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I started this GoFundMe with permission and on behalf of my best friend Taryn Rose, her daughter Gracie, and her mom Barb. On August 14, 2024, they were all three in a horrible accident. Their vehicle was struck by another person going over 80 miles per hour. The impact of this crash left all three of them with severe injuries and hospitalized.

Gracie has suffered severe and life-long injuries. She broke her neck and is left paralyzed from her chin down. She also has a broken pelvis, kidney failure, fluid on her lungs, and cannot breathe on her own and will require a ventilator to breath for the rest of her life. Because of this she also will never be able to talk again unassisted. She also can not and will not be able to eat on her own and will require a feeding tube for the rest of her life. She has a very long road of medical needs ahead of her. She will require 24-7 care. She will be hospitalized for the foreseeable future, at least 2 months that we know and then will have to move to another facility for more treatments and therapy.

Barb is still hospitalized and is expected to be there for a while. She has already had surgery for a broken hip, and C-6 and C-7 spine fracture (had her spine fused from C-5 to C-7). She has a spinal cord injury that has left her paralyzed from the chest down. She also has a clavicle fracture, sternum fracture, and is currently intubated until her sternum can heal as she cannot cough or expel secretions from her lungs. She has minimal control of her arms at the moment. She is going to need a lot of rehabilitation and has a long road to recovery.

Taryn has suffered injuries as well. She was left with a broken rib, swelling around her kidneys, fluid on her heart, spinal process fracture, and sutures above her eye. She has since been released and is recovering. She hasn't left her daughter's side and is just trying to be positive for her family.

Taryn does not like to ask people for anything, this situation they are in is nothing anyone can imagine though. She has about 3 weeks of ETO left at her job and then she will not have any income. Her daughter needs her there with her right now. Barb will not be able to work at all. They all will have years of medical needs ahead of them. Barb may never get to work again and Gracie will need a lot of care, medical treatment, and future surgeries. Taryn will need to make adaptations to her home to accommodate a wheelchair, she will need a car that can accommodate a wheelchair, and the list goes on.

This is going to be a long road to recovery, and even though we do not know exactly what the future will look like for them, every little bit helps as they try to navigate through this unexpected tragedy.
