Please help support our Parkinson’s community football club!

Fighting Fit Football is an award winning football club who provide exercise & social opportunities for people with Parkinson's.
My name is Nick - that’s me at the front of our team shot - and following my own diagnosis aged 45, I decided to create a community team for people with Parkinson's who could exercise together, have fun & meet others in the same position. Exercise is the only known way to slow down the progression of this incurable neurological condition but doing it as a team really can make a positive difference.
But it costs money to run a football team, hence this request. We need to pay for pitch hire, staff training, club promotion, club affiliation, events and trips, equipment, insurance, IT costs and coaching. Any donations you make will help with the increasing costs of running an inclusive, safe and supportive football club.
This year is our 5th birthday - since 2019 have built a strong & supportive community team from scratch of which we are extremely proud. We currently have about 35 players, aged 30s to 70s. For many of the players our weekly training sessions are the highlight of their week, as it helps with their physical & mental wellbeing. They feel included and enthused to exercise in a supportive and non-judgemental environment; and they can share the experience with others in a similar position, which gives them a sense of belonging & support. Our sessions also help combat anxiety, depression and isolation, as well as help to relieve tremor, stiffness and pain, common with the condition.
Our club motto is “Give Parkinson’s the Boot” - with your donations you will be helping our community to do just that. And you can’t put a price on that!
Thank you for reading and for any donations made.
