Please Help Support Randy, Debbie, and Celeste

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

On Sunday, October 22, 2023, Randy and Debbie Barras, along with their daughter Celeste Barras Buhler, were involved in a devastating car crash on I-12 in Louisiana that involved an impaired driver going the wrong way. They were traveling back home together after watching their granddaughter / daughter play in her college softball game out of state. The impact left all three with critical, live-threatening injuries, which have required multiple surgeries for each, and more to come. This family will have a very long journey of acute care and rehabilitation, as well as countless challenges ahead of them as they strive to rebuild their lives physically, emotionally, and financially.

You never expect these types of events to suddenly cause such devastation and heartache for your loved ones, and having to see them suffer through such senseless pain begins to take its toll. We are so very grateful that God was watching over all of them that night and continues to bless and heal them with each passing day.

After much deliberation, we decided to create a GoFundMe campaign in an effort to help raise needed funds that will directly contribute to Randy, Debbie, and Celeste’s medical expenses, medically necessary upgrades to their home, and other unforeseen financial burdens that may arise.

Their Medical Journey

Immediately following the crash, and due to the severity of their injuries, all three were transported to three separate hospitals by ambulance and AirMed. After several pelvic surgeries, Randy has finally transitioned to a rehabilitation clinic where he is progressing. Debbie suffered numerous severe injuries and remains hospitalized, but is making improvements day by day. Celeste initially underwent emergency surgery that saved her life, and received several others before being discharged to continue her recovery. Unfortunately, their road to a complete recovery will be long and painstaking.

Making Home Accessible

In order for a successful recovery, extensive rehabilitation is needed. To make this more comfortable, their home will have to be modified to include special equipment that will allow them to navigate throughout with ease. Your support will allow these changes to take place.

Unforeseen Expenses

Randy, Debbie, and Celeste will undoubtedly encounter unforeseen expenses along the way due to additional surgeries and the need for specialized transportation to visits and other equipment.
