My name is Jen Gilbert I have known Ron and Amy for close to 20 years.

Those of you who personally know this couple know they would do anything for anyone if they were able. Ron is a fighter; he doesn't give up easily.

Ron has been in the fight of his life this last year. In December of 2021, Ron went into the emergency room to be checked out because he had hiccups for 3 weeks straight. He told the Dr's in the E.R he was not leaving until they figured out what was wrong with him. After a few hours, the scan came back that he had an aggressive form of kidney cancer: Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma. They removed his kidney in 2022 amd the biopsy showed it was a rare and extremely aggressive type of cancer, but the doctors said it was a miracle that they caught it in time and got it all.

In the fall of '22, they found out his cancer had spread and was stage 4, mostly in lymph nodes throughout his body and by Thanksgiving it had spread to his bones and had created a hole in the C5 of his neck. He has been wearing a neck brace to help with pain and to provide the strength to help him hold his head up.

Ron has received multiple different types of treatments (medical, natural, and alternative). He went to Reno this last week for a health detox, and while there, Ron’s leg gave out and he broke his femur and had surgery. The surgery went well, but the CT scan showed cancer in C5 and T10 in his spine and in 2 of his ribs.

This has been a very difficult time and obviously costly as well. Ron hasn't been able to work since October, and Amy is managing the business as well as seeing to Ron's daily care. We have had the help of family as well.

Miraculously, Ron regained strength this week, and he and Amy flew home from Tahoe, only to have Amy contract COVID.
