Please help support the Ross Family

On June 13, 2022 the Ross family’s home of 33 years was struck by lightening. The damage was so extensive that they were forced to vacate the premises. Their home was uninhabitable. Irreplaceable sentimental items were lost as well as furniture, dishes, clothing, linens, etc. Anything salvageable had to be professionally cleaned and put into storage.  Their lives were uprooted to a hotel with merely a duffle bag of items per person. After 8 weeks in a hotel and 14 months in a rental waiting on estimates and lead times while working with their insurance, contractors, and FEMA, this unavoidable disaster that the Ross’ have been forced to endure has now escalated into something way more stressful and financially strapping than they could have ever imagined. Although their home was purchased with an apartment downstairs and they had been able to supplement income through their rental each month, they were recently informed that their address is not zoned for renting! Also, due to the flood zone their home is in, as well as some new FEMA rules, the home can no longer be repaired. Replacing it is the only option. The insurance company is threatening to stop paying their rent and the contractor has $100k of theirs and is currently unreachable through all avenues of communication. With that said, they have now been forced to hire an attorney to attempt to recover the funds.  The legal fees are much more than they can bear at this point and it is looking like the replacement will cost thousands and thousands of dollars more than their insurance company is even willing to pay out.

Greg, Stacey, and their daughter Carly are about as down to earth as they come. They are some of the kindest and warmest people that I have ever known and they’re always willing to help anyone in need. However they still do not know what the future holds for them and if they will ever be able to say home sweet home again. Such a nightmare, with as it seems, no end in sight! After this natural disaster and continuous obstacles, this family desperately needs some help and relief! Thank you in advance for sharing of this this story and any type of donations at all!!!  Any kind of help would be so greatly appreciated!
