New Update…..
First of all, Julie wants to make sure I stress how very thankful she is to everyone who has donated, prayed and reached out during this extremely stressful and difficult time.
After exhausting every possible avenue, Nick is unable to receive a liver transplant and his health has deteriorated rapidly. The difficult decision to transition him to hospice has been made. Julie has been with Nick nonstop doing everything possible to make sure he is comfortable and all his medical needs are met.
Unfortunately, the time required to care for him has kept Julie from being able to work. With all of the medical bills, mortgage payment and upcoming funeral costs, the concern for making ends meet has increased. If you can help, anything would be appreciated. If not, your continued prayers for Nick would mean a lot. Thank you.
My name is Tiffany, and I have put together this fundraiser to help Julie stay afloat and have fewer worries while she cares for husband, Nick.
Over the past few weeks, Nick has been in ICU and the transplant wing of Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Last week they received the devastating news that Nick would need a liver transplant in order to survive, as he is in severe liver failure. Today, Nick was denied a transplant at Froedtert. Julie and the transplant team have not given up hope, as they are reaching out to other hospitals to see if Nick would qualify to get a transplant elsewhere. In the meantime, Julie has made the decision to take Family Medical Leave from her job so that she can solely focus on caring for Nick and saving his life.
Unfortunately, Nick lost his job in August and Julie has been the only one bringing in income. With the seriousness of Nick's health and needs, she will not have the ability to work. Bills and expenses are starting to pile up, and it is my hope that this fundraiser will take some of the burden off both of them while she focuses on what is most important.
I've known Julie my whole life, and she would do anything for anyone in need. She is one of the most kind and compassionate people I know. She would be the first person to help if this was someone else.
I am asking if you have the ability to donate and help make things a bit easier during this extremely serious and difficult time, to please do so. I know anything would help and would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
