Please Help Teeleah fix her teeth
Donation protected
On 11th August, my 9 year old daughter was invited by her friend's Mum to spend the weekend at her partner’s house on a farm. Teeleah was 100% in the care of her friends mum as her Mother and I wasn’t present.
While there, my daughter was allowed to ride a 2 wheel dirt bike, without wearing a helmet. I have been advised they did not have the correct helmets on site, but still let her have a quick ride, no permission to ride the bike was given by either Teeleah's Mother or I.
As she had not ridden a dirt bike before, she ended up crashing into a gate which resulted in laceration of her lip, crumpled jaw, one tooth knocked out, one cracked tooth, and two teeth pushed 90% upwards into her gum, all the damaged teeth are her adult teeth. She also broke her wrist and fractured her finger.
The day after the accident she had just over 3 hours of surgery on her mouth for repairs. We have been advised she will need to have on going treatment, which includes continuous root canals, continuous modification of braces, her teeth will need to be replaced when she becomes an adult with implants.
We are just asking for some help to pay for her ongoing costs to get everything repaired. Any funds that don't end up getting used they will be donated to Perth's Children's Hospital/Starlight foundation.
Parents/Guardians, Please also make sure your child or any child in your care wears a helmet. No matter how short of a ride it may be. It could end up like this or worse.
