Please Help The Nuñez Family After Breast Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Elizabeth Nuñez. I’m married and a mother of seven. In November 2017, the day before Thanksgiving, I was diagnosed with stage 2B HER2+ breast cancer. Almost three weeks after diagnosis, I found out I was pregnant. The pregnancy turned out to be twins. A single mastectomy, lymph node biopsy, and port placement was done in January 2018. Chemotherapy #1 (Adriamycin/Cytoxan) was from March-May 2018 (four rounds) which was administered while I was pregnant and also included two blood transfusions due to severe anemia. The twins were born June 2018 and are now 15 months old. Chemotherapy #2 (Taxol) was from August-November 2018 (twelve rounds) and at the same time, I began targeted therapy with Herceptin from August 2018-August 2019 (eighteen rounds). I also had 34 rounds of radiation from December 2018-February 2019.
I have now completed all active treatment, but we are struggling financially to make ends meet and have been for a long time. I had to quit my job in September 2018 because of treatment and with me currently not being able to work, our monthly bills are constantly behind, in addition to my medical bills, which are mounting. I’m dealing with a lot of side effects from treatment while caring for my children and trying to take care of our home. The stress of how we’re going to pay for food, gas, diapers, the utilities, and the mortgage to name a few things has become so overwhelming. Please, if you are able to help us, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, from the Nuñez family.
