Treasure Cay, Abaco - Hurricane Dorian Relief
Tax deductible
Friends, Family, and Lovers of Abaco;
Most of you know That Treasure Cay holds a special place in our hearts, and that we have developed life long friendships with many of the residents of Treasure Cay. These last few days have been emotional and heartbreaking for us, and we are most appreciative of the kind words and support that so many of you have offered.
This is a picture of The Treasure Cay Marina and some of the homes that surround it. The grocery store, bakery, hotel, restaurants, hardware store, police station, etc. are also heavily damaged or ruined. It has been estimated that 70% of the homes in Treasure Cay were totally destroyed. This is a double whammy for The Bahamians that have lost their homes since they rely on visitors like us for their income.
Many people have asked how they can help, and where they can donate to help with immediate relief efforts as well as the rebuilding of the community. The Treasure Cay Community Foundation is a nonprofit that will service both the urgent needs during this crisis, as well as the longterm efforts to restore Treasure Cay and the homes of the people that live there. We will be monitoring to make sure that these funds are used wisely.
Thank you so much for your support. Please keep the People of Abaco in your prayers.
Gratefully,
John and Martha
