Our wonderful neighbors, Morton and Rene, are facing some tough times. After undergoing a series of tests at the Penticton Regional Hospital, Morton was flown to Vancouver General Hospital for further tests. After an extended series of tests, Morton was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. He has started chemotherapy in Vancouver.
While Rene travels back and forth to Vancouver General Hospital to be with Morton, Oma is taking care of their two boys and two dogs back in Summerland. To help ease the financial burdens they're experiencing, we have set up this GoFundMe.
With Morton unable to work and Rene being self-employed, the situation is especially challenging. Rene’s trips to VGH involve hotel stays and travel expenses that quickly add up. Our goal is to reduce these extra costs so they can focus on what matters most—Morton’s recovery and their family.
The hope is that Morton will be able to continue with treatments in the Okanagan in the future. At that time, we will be looking at setting up a meal train to help with dinners, drives, errands, and other support for the family. If you are interested in supporting Rene and Morton in this way, please email Cheryl.
We are also looking at setting up a silent auction to help raise funds. If you are interested in donating something for the silent auction, please contact Cheryl for further information.
Thank you for all that you are doing to help support Morton, Rene, and their family during this difficult period. Every contribution helps. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
