Please Help the Valdez Family

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lisa - I am requesting help for my dear friends, Aimee and Adam Valdez.

Adam was diagnosed with kidney failure almost 4 years ago. Last year, things became urgent when he was told that without a kidney transplant he could potentially lose his life. His loving wife, Aimee, immediately stepped up to see if she was a potential match. During the course of testing, it was discovered that she was pre-diabetic. The Doctors suggested she change her eating habits as well as add exercise to her daily routine before being retested. In the meantime, Adam was placed on the donor list in hopes that a donor could be found for him. Aimee worked extremely hard to reach her health goals; as there didn't appear to be a donor insight and Adam was now on daily dialysis.

At some point, Adam began having issues with the fistula that was making it possible for him to receive his life-saving dialysis treatments. It became urgent that a donor be found as the doctors began having issues finding new sites for the fistula as Adam was over scarring. Because of this things were looking grim. In the meantime, Aimee finally reached her goals and was anxious to be retested as a potential donor for her husband. However, during the evaluation, Aimee was given the heartbreaking news that she could not be considered as a donor because of the discovery of breast cancer.

They took this devastating news as I have always known them to - with faith and with courage. With time working against them they asked for the only thing they had ever asked for, prayer. Less than a month ago those prayers were answered and Adam received the life-saving news that he had a donor. I am happy to say that Adam received the kidney he so desperately needed and is now on the road to recovery from this life-changing surgery. But the recovery is slow and he is still unable to work. Aimee in the meantime has received some more devastating news, the form of cancer she has been diagnosed with is aggressive and will require an aggressive form of treatment.

Aimee and Adam are both self-employed and the time away from work along with the medical expenses they have incurred has devastated them financially. Throughout this ordeal they have each worked as much as they were able, to keep themselves afloat. But the news they received this morning has changed all that. In the early hours before dawn Adam's 20ft trailer, which was used to store all of his work tools and materials, was stolen. This latest challenge will make it impossible for them to support themselves during Adam's recovery and Aimee's upcoming chemotherapy, surgery, and treatment.

I am asking that you reach into your hearts for these kind, hardworking individuals that I am honored to call my friends. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated and will help ease the challenges they are currently facing. If you are unable to donate please lift this family in prayer.
