Please help the Well's Family

Dear friends and family,

As you know, my husband, Darrick has had another stroke.

He suffered a stroke two years ago, and thank God he recovered because my entire support system is in California since moving to Texas two years ago. We’ve met wonderful and kind friends and we’re very grateful for the support we’ve had from the kids mothers, church family and complete strangers.

I myself have suffered a terrible reaction to the vaccine. I have been diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis , a rare condition with inflammation on the spinal cord. That inflammation has caused permanent damage in 4 areas along my spine. Each day I suffer with severe pain that is unbearable. My doctors are unsure how to care for me.

Darrick has been the breadwinner of our family for the last 20 years as a doctor caring for others. He has been working in the urgent care field the last 5 years. Here in Texas he works at a privately owned small doctors urgent care. Unfortunately because it is small, there is no PTO or Disability. Since Covid, the days at urgent care are long and unbelievably busy. The average day there would be 100 patients to be seen. The vaccine is possibly the cause for these medically unexplained strokes.

He is unable to speak, but is able to write things on the board. We are encouraged that he can make a full recovery but the doctors say it can take up to a year. Recovery will entail outpatient rehabilitation once he is able to come home. He feels completely devastated, and very sad that he can’t provide for his family.

We have three teenagers at home, one in college, and 2 in high school.
