Please help Terri Hayes recover from COVID-19

Our dear friend of nearly 40 years, Theresa Hayes (exquisite leading lady- Dream Girls, West Side Story, Sophisticated Ladies, A Chorus Line, etc.) needs your help!

December of 2020, before vaccines and boosters existed, her high school sweetheart, Eric was felled by a severe case of COVID-19, which left him near death in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator for two months. In early February 2021, he was taken off the ventilator and moved to a rehab facility, where he remained until April. One of the most challenging aspects for Terri was the COVID protocol, where she could see Eric only on FaceTime.  Eric FINALLY came home in April, but by July, he was back in two different rehab facilities over three months due to swelling and heart and lung complications.  December 2021, Eric was back in the hospital again with congestive heart failure and breathing complications. So far in 2022, he has been in the hospital on two different occasions with more edema, heart valve issues, pulmonary fibrosis, a pressure sore the size of a greeting card and yet another bout of COVID. As of this writing, Eric has been in the hospital for a month. He has lost the use of one hand and will be on oxygen for the rest of his life, making him unable to work.

 

As you can imagine, the relentless escalating medical bills and living expenses have far outpaced her income and has put her in an increasingly bleak financial landscape. The URGENT goal is to give Terri some relief by helping pay these insane bills, she needs an electric wheelchair and ramp so Eric can be transported easily, and an oxygen backpack to make life a little more portable.

 

In spite of all these profound challenges, Terri has remained courageous, optimistic, and is working daily to create a "new" normal for herself.   We would be grateful for any amount you can spare to help turn this nightmare around and give this beautiful friend some room to dream again!
