Please Help to Support Marina’s Family

Donation protected

Dear friends,
Please help..The attached letter explains the situation.
I am unable to rationally think or act and entirely rely upon your assistance.
Thank you and God bless.
Marina Mitchell (nee Marina Alekseevna Gulina, born 23 November 1981) suddenly died on 4 August 2020. Marina was only 38 years old. She was perfectly healthy. It happened within three days. And it was not Covid-19. The tragic death came on the third day after she was admitted to the hospital. She is survived by a loving family: her husband, Thomas, and two small children, Sofia (6), and Alexander (2); her mother, a brother, 4 nephews and 2 cousins.
Unfortunately, Marina’s husband was wounded in the War in Iraq and became disabled. It will be very difficult for him to raise two young children as a single parent: Marina’s mother is elderly, lives far away, and suffers from a heart condition. Thomas’ parents are also unable to assist at this difficult time, while he is faced with both mortgage payments and children’s education expenses.
All those close to Marina are mourning her death- she was so young and attractive and will be remembered as a kind and responsive person, successful and honest in her relationships. Everyone treated her with love and respect.
Marina exemplified ambition and self-development, she graduated from high school and university with honors, as well as a music school and continually strived for self-improvement through education.
This beautiful, successful young woman will always hold a place in our hearts. We are asking for your financial support to help guide Marina’s family through these difficult times.

For those who are interested in details, this is the story in Thomas’s words.

Marina met her husband Thomas in Alaska on 17 Apr 2005 while he was stationed at Elmendorf United States Air Force Base.  After their first date, they spent every day together on a new adventure.  They spent so much time together that they fell in love. In May 4 2016, they flew to Las Vegas Nevada on vacation.

Thomas asked Marina (the woman with a golden smile) to marry him that night and she happily said yes.  So they took a double-decker bus to the courthouse to get a marriage license. From there they married at the Excalibur Hotel feeling as both king and queen. The next 3 days they traveled to Red Rocks Canyon, Page Arizona, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park. This made their bond even stronger.

They spent to next amazing three years together seeing the Northern Lights, fly fishing, ATV-ing and flying in Alaska. They ended up with two amazing puppy dogs, Macy and Clio. They felt as though their two young children, enjoying the wonder of life.

Then Thomas received reassignment orders to Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. So they spent 35 hours traveling from Alaska to New Mexico. The trip was amazing because they stopped at every town and national park along the way. The highlight of the trip was when the wheels of the travel trailer that they had just purchased broke. In the middle of nowhere in Canada a stranger was driving and saw Marina sitting by the trailer. The stranger saw Marina’s infectious smile and decided to help them for free. After this the rest of trip made their bond even stronger.

They arrived at Cannon AFB, were shocked at how run down everything was. Instead of complaining, Marina planned weekend trips. They saw some amazing places. Everywhere they traveled in New Mexico, Marina made friends with the locals. After six months of traveling around making friends, they had a place to stay, a home.

Unfortunately in 2009, Thomas started his deployment cycles. During this time, Marina went back to school and started a new job. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Accounting and Certificate of Achievement Small Animal Massage Practitioner.

In May 2011, Thomas suffered traumatic brain injury with other injuries during his deployment and is forced to retire.  As a Combat Wounded Warrior and 100 percent disabled Veteran, they decided to move to Colorado for his medical treatment. Luckily for the family, Marina’s job headquarters was located in Colorado Springs Co. So they moved there to start the next part of their adventures. Marina became the breadwinner of the family during this time. Three years later they decided to start a family. Now, Sofia 6 and Alexander 2 are part of their lives. Thomas cared for the children while Marina worked.

Then on Monday 27 July 2020, Marina went to the Emergency Room. They held her overnight because they didn’t know what was wrong with her. The next day she had a seizure. They decided to monitor her because her brain was swelling. That night she started having renewed seizures so they put her on a ventilator and moved her to the intensive care unit at another hospital. Then on 4 August 2020 Marina passed away leaving her disabled husband Thomas, daughter Sofia, and son Alexander. The Hospital still does not know the exact cause of the maladies that lead to her death.
