Please help us bring Beryl home safely!

For the past five weeks, my beloved Nan, Beryl Noter, has been in The Alfred Hospital after being diagnosed with a 10cm thymoma (tumor) growing in her chest. Due to complications that prolonged her stay—and after many family trips from Robinvale to Melbourne—it was ultimately deemed safest for Nan not to undergo surgery.

Beryl also lives with reduced mobility and a mild cognitive impairment. After such a long hospital stay, it has become increasingly unsafe for her to return home as it currently lacks the safety and accessibility features she now requires. Despite these challenges, it is my Nan’s deepest wish—and ours as a family—for her to return home to Robinvale, where she can be with her husband, surrounded by her friends and loved ones.

To make this possible, we need to renovate Beryl's bathroom to ensure it is safe and accessible for her. The costs of external support, combined with the financial burden of continuous travel and accommodation in Melbourne during her hospital stay, have been overwhelming. That’s why we are reaching out to our community for support.

Our greatest wish is to help Nan spend the rest of her life in the home where she raised our family, filled with decades of love and memories. Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to us and bring us one step closer to making this a reality.

Our long term goal is to raise $20,000 to afford the most appropriate renovation possible. Any amount raised is deeply appreciated, our family will post updates through the GoFund Me page to show you how your contributions have changed Beryl’s life for the better!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading Beryl’s story. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far—our family and friends, the dedicated healthcare teams in Mildura and Melbourne, and the amazing Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officers who have been a tremendous source of support during this time.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support
