Please Help Us Bring Ella Home

Edit:
Hi,
The time has come to share a long overdue update with you all. For a multitude of reasons, the past two months have been extremely challenging, and for a long time we have been unsure of what the future looks like for Ella, and unsure what to tell you as a result.
What we can now say, is that Ella has been discharged from the hospital, and finally in her home setting we are able to see how far she has come. She is walking without aids, living independently, and even talking about going back to work! She still has a long journey ahead of her, however in contrast to where she was exactly three months ago at the time of writing this update, it feels like nothing will stop her.
I wanted to take the opportunity to express to you all how grateful we are for your support, to each and every person who donated, shared, wrote messages of love and hope, and reached out in kindness. There is absolutely no doubt that you, the community, got her to where she is today.
I hope you are all proud of what you have achieved, we could not have done it without you. From the bottom of all our hearts,
Thank You.
Dear all,
My name is Josh, and my Parents, my brothers and I are reaching out to the community to help us bring Ella home.
Ella is a much loved daughter, a sister to three brothers, a devoted public servant, a loving friend to many, and a kind soul to everyone she meets, regardless of their social standing or place in the world.
Everyone who knows her will tell you about her calm and gentle energy, her love of furry creatures great and small, her selflessness in helping people, and her ability to make everyone she meets feel special.
Ella has spent the last few weeks on a well-earned holiday overseas in Europe, meeting new people, making new connections, and spending time immersing herself in nature. Unfortunately her trip has been cut short by a devastating accident, which has left her with multiple fractures of her skull and spine, several limbs and 12 ribs, puncturing both lungs and leaving her in a critical condition and fighting for life in a foreign hospital, far from everyone she knows and loves.
We can only imagine how scared she would be if she knew the full extent of her injuries, and we cannot even begin to convey how frightened we are for her, and how important it is for her to come home. She has too much living left to do, too many people to help, and too much love to give for this to be how this chapter ends. She has a long hard road ahead of her, and she will need all the help she can get. From doctors, family, friends, colleagues, and you. The world doesn't have enough Ella's, and it needs her.
We are a small family network, and are working hard to ensure we are gathering every cent we can to ensure she receives the best care possible. Our own expenses do not matter, all we care about is her. We know we cannot do this alone, and that she cannot do this alone.
Her medical expenses to date are close to $100,000AUD and counting, and an air ambulance to bring her home is more than $400,000AUD. She will require many more months of care, multiple surgeries, and months of physical rehabilitation before she is able to impact the world as she once did. She can't do this alone, and neither can we.
The doctors who have looked after her since her admission to the hospital in Dubrovnik have been amazing, and we cannot thank them enough for their hard work keeping her alive. They have conveyed the importance of moving her to a bigger hospital with better facilities where she can receive specialized care vital for further recovery. They know the best thing for her is to be home where she can feel the full impact of the love from her family, friends, and community.
If you have ever known Ella, been touched by her presence, or moved by her story and can contribute to her care, it would be appreciated in a way that cannot be put into words. The support of everyone who has already reached out with prayers, well wishes and hope for her recovery has been humbling, and gives us the confidence that all of you will appreciate the importance of this goal, and that she is worth it.
Thank you, and much love.
