Please help us (for Auntie Gigi)

With a heavy heart, I am starting this campaign on behalf of my cousin Tracey Tran, who lost her mother, my Auntie Gigi, due to complications from lymphoma on March 23, 2022.

Auntie Gigi migrated from the Philippines in the '80s and helped all 7 of her younger siblings in various ways. She worked in education and the insurance industry and was best known for her artistic and cooking abilities among her family and friends. She made the best desserts and crafted jewelry, clothing, and other trinkets to give as gifts. She was very thoughtful and loved by her family, spending her retirement years going back and forth from Raleigh, NC to Bataan, Philippines.

She was initially diagnosed with advanced lymphoma in Feb after feeling ill and going to the ER. She developed several complications, including sepsis and organ failure before she could even receive chemo treatment, spending most of March in the ICU at UNC Rex Hospital.

We have yet to process the grief of losing her so suddenly. Her family is struggling to make decisions on funeral/burial because of unplanned for and high expenses. The family is also waiting on the hospital bills, which we know will be high considering the advanced level of care she received. I wanted to start this crowdfunding campaign to help alleviate some of the stress and anxiety of dealing with these issues. I know many people were touched by Auntie Gigi and have asked how to help. Even a tiny amount (and with prayers) is so very appreciated.
