Please help us get brain surgery for our friend Ben

Friends, family, and those that can help us,
We are reaching out to you today to share the story of our pal Ben Horsfield, an incredible husband and father who after an unexpected seizure on 7 April, has recently received a devastating diagnosis: an aggressive brain tumour.
This news has shaken our tribe to its core, and we are determined to do everything we can to support Ben and his family. There is a high risk that without our help he could die within the next few weeks.
Ben is a family man through-and-through. He has four wonderful young boys, Harvey, Harry, Oliver and Freddie, a loving wife Gemma. He has always put his family first, and loves nothing more than spending time adventuring with his boys. He also co-founded the kids football team at Croy Primary School so they’d have somewhere to play with their friends. He coaches the team most weekends at Culloden or can be found volunteering at the SFA festivals on the Bught Park playing field.
He’s a self-employed Aga wizard, well-loved across the Highlands by his loyal customers. But now with his diagnosis he cannot work, which poses a significant financial challenge for his family.
The whole family do so much for the community around them. Alongside Ben, Gemma dedicates a huge amount of time every week to Croy Primary football club whilst juggling her job as a PSA at the school. Ben also manages the newly created Tornagrain United football club, who are already doing well in the leagues (and no, they haven’t bribed us to say that).
Why are we fundraising?
Because we’ve received conflicting information about outcomes, Ben has consulted with a highly-skilled surgeon based at a specialist neuro hospital in London who is confident that with surgery they can cure Ben’s condition.
However, the surgery alone costs £20,000.
This amount doesn’t cover any of the follow-up treatments, medication or the time it will take Ben to recover. During this recovery period, Ben will not be able to work, leaving the family without their main source of income.
Please help us give Ben and his family the best possible chance.
We are asking for your support during this challenging time. The funds raised will go directly towards:
1. Surgery Costs: £20,000 for the operation to remove the tumour.
2. Post-Surgery Care: Additional medical expenses, including follow-up appointments in London and any medications.
3. Living Expenses: Helping Gemma to cover bills and everyday expenses while Ben is unable to work.
Every contribution — big or small — will help make a difference. We understand that not everyone can donate, but sharing this page will be a great help.
Please help by:
Donating: Any amount you can give will help us reach our goal and support Ben on his path to recovery.
Sharing: Please share this page with your friends, family, and social media networks. The more people who know about Ben’s situation, the better our chances of reaching our goal.
Your support means more than you could imagine. Thank you.
