Everyone, if fortunate, knows someone like Sunni in their circle…. that person that is larger than life, who picks you up when hard times befall, and you can always count on to be there. They light up the room, prioritize others and give of themselves so naturally that simultaneously they fall short of their own investment in themselves but by their grace make you forget that they need help sometimes too.

Their commitments are not a flaw however, but the mark of a truly genuine and selfless human being and one whose personality shines and gives us hope even when we ourselves lose sight of it. Our society depends on these people to keep us pointed in the right direction, because otherwise as a whole we would fail without their kindness and spirit. Sunni is the kind of people of whom I speak.

Sunni’s turn for hard times came this February while trying to prepare for work day of the ice storm. She fell on the stairs and tore the deltoid ligament in her ankle. A debilitating injury that if left untreated by surgery would leave her on disability for the rest of her life. Blind-sided and without insurance Sunni found herself actually contemplating the dismissal of surgery because of the cost. Faced with this revelation and the possibility of a terribly new reality Sunni opted for surgery the next day now relying on 2 screws and a 3-month non-weight bearing sentence.

In aide of Sunni we are bringing awareness in the hopes to gather funds to assist with the medical bills pertaining to Sunni's unfortunate fall. Thank you for what you are able to give.
