I’m writing this with a very heavy heart.
My beautiful, smart, loving, kind, generous and compassionate Muslim sister went back to our creator in the early mornings of January 2-3 2024.
She was visiting her best friend who she met on Facebook, they both shared a passion for books & Literature.
What a way to start the new year
Since 2017 she suffered from Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Seizures, & Tricuspid Valve Regurgitation. On top of the mental and the emotional strain from her hardships throughout life having to rely on inconsiderate and dysfunctional family members.
I’m the youngest of my sisters and unfortunately I was kept away from my other siblings for the majority of my life so we weren’t able to form a healthy strong bond that siblings and families should have.
It hurts to know that we could’ve reconciled our minut issue had I reached out. She was the type of person to not bother folks she felt doesn’t care. Though my care and love for her are beyond words, I wasn’t mature or healed enough to relay it into words and that is just something I have to live with now. Keisha spent a lot of her life suffering in silence due to the lack of support and empathy for her symptoms and pain from “family” members, I am to blame as well for listening to the words of “family” who knew nothing about who she really was and what she was really going through.
Keisha.. Ley and I miss you everyday. It’s hard holding back the tears to write this. I’ve been putting it off for days because i haven’t been able to process her death with all the planning and drama from people who call themselves family with no empathy for others or dignity for themselves.
Keisha was a diamond in the rough, taken for granted because of her disabilities. She would give you the shirt off her back even when she had nothing.
She didn’t deserve the negativity and toxicity that she had to endure during her time on earth, just as many kind and loving souls. She was very intelligent and was always fond of learning new things, she graduated high school, and she even wanted to get into the medical field after graduating. She enjoyed school, music, writing, coloring was her go to besides reading.
She could color for hours, I remember the days when I was able to spend time with her and that was all we did. Talked about the issues in our family, our similarities and interest, listened to music, she put me on to books of her liking, we just vibed as sisters or siblings should. If only it lasted longer. She would’ve turned 31 this year on March 30th, 2024. We will be doing something in her memory on this day as well.
Unfortunately for my sister, father and I this was a very unexpected and difficult news to bear. I’ve been trying to reach out to the county for burial assistance but it has been a very difficult process especially without my sisters personal belongings for the information needed.
My wonderful and generous sister, mother of four was able to reach out to her boss in order to receive half of her salary so we can bring our sister home.
The donated funds will be used strictly for my sister who passed on. I will provide updates for everything and the estimated prices are down below. Thank you so much for even taking the time to read this, if you decided to donate or share I want to thank you so much for your generosity and support.
