250 miles Stonehenge to Snowdon cycle and climbing challenge

Please help us raise urgent funds to get our friend the treatment he needs.
One of our oldest friends, Jon (42), has been battling pancreatic cancer since the summer of 2023. Recently his chemotherapy treatment has stopped, and the cancer has spread to his liver. This means he now needs urgent treatment not available on the NHS – he can only get it privately, and overseas.
In order to help raise funds for Jon, Six of us including Rob Morgan, Alex Ward, Luke wheeler, James West, Steven Webber and Andy Hake are taking on a monumental challenge across England and Wales on the 29th of June 2024: cycling the 250 miles from Stonehenge to Snowdon. And then, the real sting in the tail: climbing Snowden.
Starting at Stonehenge, we’ll be relaying our way through Bath and Bristol, over the old Severn Bridge and into Wales at Chepstow. Then the hard part begins, with an increasingly mountainous challenge as we head through the Black Mountains, over the Gospel Pass and into mid-Wales where we’ll stop for the night at Llandrindod Wells – after 130 miles (and 2500m of climbing). And that’s just day one!
The next morning, we’ll be back out on our bikes again, continuing our journey north through Wales. The route goes over many more mountain passes as we head towards the Snowdonia National Park and the foot of Yr Wyddfa. Whilst ‘shorter’, day 2 of the challenge still involves 120 miles of cycling and a further 2,100m of climbing.
After another night of desperately needed rest, it will be up early for the climb to the summit of Snowdon on the 1st of July. Hopefully for this part we will be joined by family and friends for the climb to the summit – legs permitting. If you’d like to join us for that part, just let us know.
Whilst this is a daunting challenge, it’s nothing compared to what Jon is facing and we hope it will encourage you to donate towards his treatment. Your donations will certainly inspire us towards the finish.
All of the challenge is self-funded, so every single penny donated will go directly towards Jon’s desperately needed treatment. Thank you for anything you can give.
