Please help us rebuild this wine heritage!

Hi. We are Daniela Lorenzo and José Luis Gómez and we live on the banks of the Maule River in the Maule Region of Chile. On August 21st this area of Chile was hit by the heaviest rainfall in over 50 years leading to the Maule River flooding in historic fashion. In fact, it's the highest level the river has EVER flooded. Because of this, we lost our home with everything in it but also our livelihood.
But maybe even more important, a unique part of Chilean and global wine heritage has been lost.
This is the González-Bastías vineyard where we have been living and working for the past 10 years cultivating and promoting the ancestral wines of the Maule region. Our land is the birthplace of one of the first vineyards of Chile and is the origin of some of the best artisanal wines in the country. In fact, our vines are more than 200 years old!
Before the floods of August 21, our land was a balanced ecosystem that provided us with abundant and delicious fruit, where we prepared eco-friendly wines, and where we offered activities for hundreds of members of the community as well as visitors from abroad.
On August 21, five generations of work were destroyed in 24 hours of flooding. Reconstruction will take years, countless hours of labor, thousands of dollars, and of course love and dedication.
Your help is essential for recovering this invaluable world patrimony and for conserving it for current and future generations.
