Please help us secure safe & inhabitable housing

Hi my name is Aubrey. My family and I had to move out of our long term rental due to extensive mold, termite, and structural damage to the multi dwelling family building in VOC. The landlords sister and her boyfriend who property manage had promised to secure a temporary living situation until our units were safe and inhabital again. She had co-signed for a 6-month lease and if more time was required we would

go month-to-month. The rent is $1450 more than our rent at the condo and can not manage $3550/month with all bills we are responsible for (water, electricity, trash, pest control).

Both the property managers had both promised to pay the 6 months rent up front for the temporary house, but have only paid for just shy of 3 months. On Wednesday I got a threatening text message from them blaming my fiancé for Yavapai County closing three units down by deeming them as uninhabitable and shutting down construction due to them not getting permits for reconstruction. Because of their assumption they have punished my family by cancelling their end of the lease at the temporary house. We just moved in on July 5th.

Due to them breaking their end of the lease the new property manger at the temporary house stated that we have either 30 days to pay the remainder of the 6 month lease ($10,650) to be able to remain in the house or we have 60 days to repack our things and vacate.

My 6-year old daughter had to be sent to her grandparents due to her getting consistently ill from the moldy condo. After we moved into the temporary house we were able to feel confident she had a safe place to live. She has surgery scheduled for July 26th to remove tonsils and adenoids due to constant infections she was getting from mold exposure. She also starts her first grade year at West Sedona Elementary August 7th and has a birthday on August 10th.

I am in my Masters program to obtain my degree in Special and General education with licensure online through GCU, but due to the displacement and having to relocate I had to take weeks off. If we are forced to have to vacate here it will force me to have to take more time off prolonging my progress in the program. I have also been consistently ill (coughing up and blowing blood out of my nose, headaches, brain fog, hair loss, and hormone imbalances). The exposure has been very taxing on my families health, bodies, and minds!

My fiancé was working for then by doing maintenance on the property. They had him guarantee to keep himself available and open so he can be their eyes and ears and to help manage contractors and residents. He is still owed money from them. Because he had made himself open and available to them he has not lined up any work going forward which has put us in a deeper financial hardship.

If you can please donate what you can to keep this roof over our heads for the term of the lease it would give us time to look for our next move and prevent us from becoming homeless.
