Hello Everyone, My name is Jamie Alsaker, It is with great sadness we are putting this page together for our mom Mary as our Father Loren has passed on unexpectedly and FAR too soon. Loren suffered a horrible stroke on December 11th, that left him in the hospital for several days trying to recover. Loren put as much effort in as possible to get the hell out of there on his own including removing his web of tubes and wires he was hooked to ( nurses had to tape them to his head where he couldn't reach them) Although un able to speak he would tap his bed rails and point at the TV as a distraction to others so he could make a valiant effort to run for it. Although determined- Loren was not able to get his feet on the floor and walk out of there.
Our family spent hours at his side watching him suffer the damage the stroke left him with. Loren made progress some of the days and we all had high hopes he was coming home but then was put back on a ventilator after his airway was blocked from his inability to swallow. We were again happy to hear Loren was being taken off the tubes and was waking up from sedation to try again.
Watching him look around the room and wonder yet again what was going on & why was he in this hospital, we all knew he was looking for one person- HIS WIFE. Mary being close to him was one thing that made his eyes light up, Loren found the strength to reach for Mary for a big hug and pressed his paralyzed lips to her cheek for a kiss. Yeah we all cried too.
After a couple more days of being in the hospital and not a whole lot of answers or hope left, we got THE CALL Loren was not doing well yet again.
Loren passed away on Friday December 22nd @ 4:06AM with Mary by his side along with his Daughter Tracy, Son Cory and Sister Lisa witnessing his last breath. He left behind grandchildren that adore him, a family that loves him and a daughter in law that wishes for just one more of his laughs, for a grown man he had the most innocent child like giggle that has been ringing in my ears since he passed.
A-lot of things left unfinished, unsaid and a bucket list far from complete as he was still considerably healthy.
Loren was the kindest and most giving man, he was a wonderful father and very loyal loving husband, in his will he wrote 3 times that he is a God Fearing Man and we all know God called an angel home. Loren was a great provider for his family and wife. Mary hasn't been in the best of health the last several months and is unable to work. Loren was working for them both and taking care of her the best way he could including staying back from hunting this year to make sure Mary was ok and had him there for whatever she may need. Loren was a very stubborn man and never asked anyone for anything, if his family needed it he found away to provide it. And now he is gone and we need help.
This heartbreak and stress has already landed Mary In the ER for AFIB difficulties and the bills have PILED up fast, we are asking for financial support for Mary. Anything will help and is appreciated. Everything donated will go to their medical bills, funeral arrangements, paying off her car and ongoing care for Mary
I do not wish this on anyone! If your table was missing someone this Christmas, we are praying for peace and healing for you as well.
Thank you for your kindness and consideration and keeping us in your hearts,
Sincerely,
Mary, Tracy, Cory and the Alsaker Family
