Disabled Animal Caretaker Needs HELP!

my name is Megan, and I'm a disabled woman caring for 13 special needs animals by myself. thank you for taking the time to read our story. the included video will detail the very complicated situation we are currently in, but to try and summarize; we have unfortunately fallen victims to a very dangerous narcissist named Steven McEnaney. this man presents himself as a wealthy animal rescuer, but the truth is so disturbing it's almost completely unbelievable. if I wasn't living it myself, I would never believe this could be true.

to put it simply, Steven McEnaney is a career criminal and a fraud. he is currently facing multiple lawsuits in the county where he lives for non-payment, breach of contract, fraud, and more. he registered as a 501c3 nonprofit in 2019 solely to obtain this 30 acre property for free. this was strategically done only weeks before the property owners death, knowing she wanted her legacy donation of this property to be used for helping animals. he has never filed the necessary paperwork with the IRS or the state to maintain his charity tax status.

when I met Steven in April 2022, I began volunteering at his "private farmed animal sanctuary" in Salt Point, NY called "Hunks and Hunnies Animal Sanctuary". in reality, it is a massive hoarding situation of over 130+ animals and no staff or volunteers. he has so many animals that he began renting pasture space from a local beef farmer, the ethical implications of which should not even need to be stated. I have witnessed him physically punishing animals by kicking them repeatedly. he is neglectful in the care given, especially to the goats and horses, who have escaped and sustained serious injuries multiple times; or the roosters who have either died from neglect, killed each other, or been killed by predators due to lack of basic protections or medical care.

I have uncovered additional evidence that Steven owes the IRS nearly $100k in unpaid taxes, as well as the fact that the charity status of the sanctuary is fraudulent, which I confirmed with the Attorney General. Steven offered me a live-in volunteer position with his sanctuary, and asked me to relocate from Albany, NY to where we are currently located in Mahopac, NY. in December of 2022 he told me the property was being readied with fencing, barns, plumbing, and other important projects to make it livable. he sent photos and kept me informed, encouraging me to follow through with the move, which I did, completely self-expensed in excess of $3,000. upon my arrival on May 13th, 2023 I was immediately aware that EVERYTHING was wrong....

the purpose of this GoFundMe is to cover relocation costs to get myself and my animals to safety immediately. Steven has refused every one of my attempts to settle this amicably and has escalated in his threats of violence, even disconnecting utilities and refusing to repair necessary issues, like not having working water. he also refused to reimburse me for moving here, even though after doing so he told me "there would never be a sanctuary here". we are currently in the process of looking for a new home in the area where we will remain together as a family, and where I can continue my work as a wildlife rehabilitator and special needs animal caretaker.
