Please help us to extend Danielle’s life

This is 40 year old Danielle, wife and mother of two fantastic kids aged 7 and 10 and fur baby Frankie 11.
With her big birthday in April 2023, she embraced and celebrated what was going to be the beginning of life starts at 40 with open arms. Just 3 months later she collapsed in front of her children having a tonic-clonic seizure. Home alone, they ran to neighbours for help and was given CPR which saved her life.
A week later she was diagnosed with a grade 2 brain tumour. However seizures became worse despite increasing medication to control them.
Scans showed fast growth and she had surgery to remove the tumour in November 2023.
Just before Christmas she was given the devastating news that the tumour was a Glioblastoma and she had terminal grade 4 cancer with a life expectancy of 12-14 months. She suffers with ongoing seizures and needs round the clock support to live day to day. She is currently undergoing gruelling radiotherapy and chemotherapy which is a battle of fatigue, sickness and hair loss, alongside trying to be the best mum she can be and hiding how unwell she really is in front of her children.

Despite tackling the treatment head on like the warrior she is and facing these daily challenges, the prognosis remains the same, the cancer is not curable and no further treatments are available on the NHS.

Refusing to accept that this is the future for her family, Danielle endlessly researched what else is available around the world to extend her life.

A glimmer of hope was found in a vaccine available called DCVax-L

DCVax-L is a type of immunotherapy known as a dendritic cell vaccine. Developed by Northwest Biotherapeutics DCVax-L is a personalised vaccine made from each patient’s own dendritic cells – a type of cell that helps the immune system recognise and attack cancer cells.

Although not available on the NHS, Danielle’s Oncologist has referred her to Professor Ashkan in The London Neurosurgery Partnership. However, although this could be the answer to her prayers the £250,000 cost of the treatment makes it unobtainable.

This is where we come in - Danielle’s best friends and army of supporters. We are doing all that we can to fundraise locally but with such a large amount to raise we are reaching out to ask for help to achieve the £250,000 funds needed to make the life changing vaccine possible.

Any funds raised will primarily go towards funding cancer treatment not available on the NHS but we would also like to raise money to ensure that any home adaptations or care services that may be needed are of the highest grade to give Danielle a comfortable quality of life if the time comes.

We would also like to be able to help Danielle and her family make some special memories that will be cherished by her children and husband in their lifetimes.

If you would like to donate we promise every penny will go towards helping Danielle in the best possible way …… and hopefully help her live as long as possible with her young family.

Much Love,
