I dont know where to start or to get through writing this. My name is Tameka Nelson neice of my late uncle Jason Thompson. On September 28th I was awaken with the saddest, most heart breaking news no one will want to hear. My mom called me from Jamaica that my uncle was stabbed to death. The pain I felt that morning shattered my world and to make matters worst I was the one who needed to break the tragic news to my 75 year old grandmother (his mom). To make matters more heart breaking my grandmother lost another son in Jamaica 8 years ago due to another untimely death, ( he was struck by lightening) so to be the bearer of another tragic news broke me even more. No mother should have bury their child or children but sometimes life happens and the pain that comes with it is sometimes too unbearable.
I was told that my uncle, a very positive, loving, hardworking and a motivator to young youths in his community was stabbed to death by a 17 year old who started acting up dues ro substance abuse. We were told by the community that the young man who take illicit drugs started acting up from the day before. His father had asked for help from the police to try calm him down but he was told to just keep on eye on him. Knowing the type of person my uncle is and the respect the community have for him, the father brought the young man to my uncle and ask him if he could help talk to him to try and calm him down, my uncle tried and realized that the young man situation was really bad this time. We were told that my uncle then went back inside his house. A few moments later he heard the young man calling him to come out. When my uncle went out to him unaware that he was armed with a knife, he started stabbing my uncle.
My uncle was rushed to the Spanish the Spanish Town hospital and died shortly after arriving.
