Please help with bills due to medical leave

Hi everyone! I am writing this on behalf of my bestie, BK, who has unfortunately been out of work for several months due to medical reasons and is having a hard time getting short-term disability payments.

A few months back BK had a simple spinal tap procedure which most people are fine with. The day after her procedure she had a terrible migraine and a stiff neck so because of this we took her to the ER that night which is when they found that the spinal tap had actually caused a brain bleed. That ER was not equipped to handle her situation and she was rushed to a trauma hospital to stop the bleeding in her brain.

She called out of work while she was staying in the hospital to recover from the "blood patch" the hospital did to stop the brain bleed. The trauma center hospital kept her for a week to make sure she was improving and the bleed was gone before they would release her. This is when BK's Doctors decided that she needed to take a medical leave to take care of her medical needs and herself. The spinal tap has caused prolonged issues over the last few months and the Doctor is unsure when he will release her to go back to work. Since the spinal tap procedure, she is also now disabled.

BK has still not been paid anything from her short-term medical disability claim yet and is still waiting to hear anything about when this will be done. Her last update from disability said that they can take up to 8 weeks from the date the Doctor submits the paperwork (which her Doctor still has not yet done even though he caused all of this to happen).

BK doesn't know when she will be able to return to work because of complications she is having. She has exhausted her emergency money and savings that she had. She is now behind on her rent and bills and is out of options. I am writing this on her behalf to try to help her get some money to pay her bills and take care of her fur babies because she is one of the best people I know and she didn't deserve this to happen to her and to go through this hardship due to a medical complication.

BK has one of the biggest hearts I know. She is always giving to others even when she knows she won't get anything in return. If she has something and you like it and tell her, she will gladly hand it to you just to make you happy. BK is always helping people when she can, if she sees a homeless person she will offer food or whatever she has to help them. She will compliment anyone she sees because she knows it will make someone's day. She is one of the most positive people I know and tries to spread her positivity and happiness to everyone around her, so it's so hard seeing her so down and defeated.

I am hoping that other kind people in this world are willing to help BK in her time of need because I know she would help anyone if she could. Any help at all for her is greatly appreciated

BK has 5 fur babies to take care of, 4 cats and the cutest dog you will ever see, but right now she is struggling to be able to take care of them and herself. Just getting the bare necessities is almost impossible since she has no income coming in. Her babies need food, kitty litter, and medications which are expensive.

BK's dog was a rescue that she got because someone abandoned her at a police station which brought her to the Veterinary hospital BK worked as a Veterinary Technician. After they made sure she was ok, not microchipped, and the time for someone to come claim her had passed, BK and her big heart put in the papers to adopt the furry baby girl.

All 4 cats are also special needs rescues that BK adopted because her heart couldn't bear to see them put to sleep when they could have a home. One cat has a virus that affects his vision and he has been slowly going blind (he is now blind though) for the last 10 years. 2 of her cats have been diagnosed with renal (kidney) disease and have to eat special food so that they can have a healthier life. Her last cat was rescued by her when she was brought in by a good Samaritan because the cat was hit by a car. BK will help anything and anyone if she sees they are in need, this is just how she is.
