Please help with Kim Ivey's funeral arrangements
Donation protected
To all of those who sent messages of condolence and support to me over the sudden passing of Kim this past Monday December 17th. I wanted to thank you all for all you have said to me about Kim and the wonderful support you have provided me.
I know many of you have expressed a desire to help in any way you could and I have run into a situation that has forced me to ask for help which is something I am not good at doing.
I had applied for funeral/burial benefits that were made available to help low income people like myself and since I have been on a small fixed income disability benefit since getting ill almost 7 years ago now I thought I would be approved for that assistance. It turns out they don't consider the status of the surviving partner and my income status being the one that would have to pay for Kim's arrangements but they have turned me down for any assistance at all because of Kim's lack of status in Canada. Despite being together for over 10 years and Kim spending her time and energy looking after me when I got ill there was not a shred of help to be offered me in this situation.
I am asking any of you that would be able to help me put together funds so that I can give Kim the basic cremation she wanted. We spent a lot of time talking about it mainly in my case as I was the one that was supposed to die. Now I am the one that has to pick up the pieces. Kim wanted the most basic of cremation services and I have found that even for the most bare minimum I am looking at a cost between $2000-$2500. I don't even make that in a few months on my disability let alone to have to pay it in full before I can start the process.
So if anyone is able and can find it in their hearts to help me out with covering these costs I would forever be in your debt. It doesn't matter what amount you could spare anything would help.
I am have set up this GoFundMe campaign as soon as I can but if anyone wants to send money via Interac E-transfer it can be sent to my email at [email redacted]
I know this is the holiday season and there is never enough to go around but I have to hope some of you out there would be able and willing to help me and honour Kim in this way.
Please forgive me if you get this message on multiple platforms as I am starting by just sending out a blast to all those that have messaged me with there condolences and support.
Thank you all for your time and love.
David.
