Please help with rent money for Janet!
Hi there!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Catherine and I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Janet. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 for the third time
(She survived cancer 2 other times before, thank God!) and since then has experienced one medical error after another that has left her very ill and unable to work.
She underwent chemotherapy for cancer in 2019 however in the middle of 2020 found herself unable to breathe, not because of Covid-19 but because she had developed double pneumonia that she developed from the side effects of the chemotherapy drugs. Once her doctors realized that her medication was to blame, they changed her medication and put her on a very strong steroid called prednisone to help reduce the inflammation in her lungs. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there... After being on prednisone for a couple of months, she then developed diabetes because of the steroids she was given. The tests and drugs given to her at the hospitals took a toll on her physical and mental state so much so that she developed tremors and intense shaking in her body. The doctors didn't know why but by God's grace the tremors slowly started to go away. Finally, when she was able to get her blood sugar under control after acquiring diabetes, her blood pressure started to spike to extreme numbers at the smallest amount of exposure to warmth on her skin from the weather or warm showers. She found herself not being able to even step outside of her apartment for fresh air since she lives in a very hot state. She had to keep her small little apartment very cold and take cold showers because the smallest amount of heat would set her blood pressure off. The doctors ran a whole bunch of tests but didn't know what was causing this mysterious reaction.
Thankfully, she's been slowly starting to detox her body and heal her gut microbiome. Janet's blood pressure has slowly started to regulate and can now go for very brief walks outside without fearing the warm weather of South Florida. Slowly, she is starting to feel better but is till having a lot of health issues that is keeping her from work or being around others. Her brain has a few cysts, her lungs are still in need of healing along with what was shared about her blood pressure.
.. The little savings she had were already spent last year when all the businesses closed. The support of the government during this time has helped her get by while not being able to work. Unfortunately, the government cut the aid she was receiving this past June and left her high and dry. She had no money for July's rent but used a cash advance that her emergency credit card offered to pay for it or she would have had to leave her home with nowhere to go. Sadly, the family that she has in the Bahamas is not in a position to help her financially. She's applied for disability but the process takes 6 months. She has been on food stamps for a very long time, receives medicaid, and also social security, but it's not enough to pay her bills. She's living in the US because the medical care here is better than in the Bahamas. Her rent, utilities, car payment, and insurance come out to $2,000.00 a month.
This fundraiser plans to raise enough money to cover her for 3 months. After 3 months, if the Office of Disability in Florida still hasn't been able to help her, then the fundraiser will be extended for another 3 months to cover her expenses.
This is only what she has gone through since her cancer treatment. Sadly, she has experienced a lot more hardships prior to this which I won't share on here. Moreover, during this whole time, she has patiently been leaning on the Lord. Waiting on Him, praising Him, and faithfully trusting in His help. God works through people. My prayer is for God to please work through you... I hope your heart is touched by her story and moved to share $1 with her. If not more. Janet is a true inspiration and such a wonderful soul. She can only repay you with prayer. And she will definitely pray to God for you....
Thank you in advance for your consideration! Please keep her in your prayers.
May God bless you and all your families. ☦️
Luke 14:12-14
"He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
Proverbs 19:17
"Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed."
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work."
