Please help with unexpected emergency vet costs
Donation protected
On 11/18/20, I adopted Dexter, an 8 year old pitbull, from the shelter that I was working full time at. We’ve spent 2 whole wonderful years together. He’s been my rock through the pandemic and then some. He’s my best friend, and my whole world.
min October of 2022, my vet found out that he had a mass on his spleen. We saw a specialist and had his surgery scheduled for 11/21/22.
during the night of 11/19/22 his mass ruptured, and on 11/20/22, we rushed him to the nearest vet that would take him- 1 hour and 15 minutes away. He’s having emergency surgery there and will have to stay there for a day or 2 post operation to make sure everything is checking out the way it’s supposed to. Originally this was supposed to be a relatively routine procedure that we planned out. However, things took a turn for the worst, and I’m not entirely sure that he will come out of his surgery alive. Sue to this, what I anticipated to be a surgery with a planned out/ budgeted cost snowballed into something bigger. His projected total cost of surgery is around $10,00- $12,000. I have a care credit card with a $9,000 limit that I’m making out to save my baby. I’m only looking for help to cover the unexpected emergency costs. I’m not usually the type of person to ask for any type of help, but given the circumstances, I figured it’s worth a shot. Thank you to anyone who graciously donates/ shares his story. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
