Help Baby Zeina to heal: A Journey of Hope

Donation protected
On the 3rd day of the ongoing Gaza genocide, 9th of October 2023, Zeina’s father birthday - Nabil - turned into a tragedy he could never forget. Their house was bombed while they were inside with no warning or call to evacuate. He lost his precious mother, his sister in law, his nephew, and his niece. His back was broken twice: the first time when he lost 4 of the people closest to his heart, and the second when his spine was physically broken.
It was not enough for the occupation to destroy and annihilate but also erase memories and details of every corner of his house, his family house, and his in law’s house.
It was not enough for the occupation to bomb his house; they also destroyed his small business storage units, which is his only source of income for him and his family. Everything he ever owned turned into ashes in the matter of seconds. Not one thing dear to him was left unscathed. Everything turned into rubble and smoke.

After two months of this atrocity, he was finally transferred to Egypt to start treatment journey for his broken spine and leg. Heba - Zeina’s mother -, also has a broken back, which requires surgery. She also requires reconstructive surgery, hand tendon surgery, and intensive physical therapy.
Even Zeina - 1 year old - had a crushed elbow joint and humerus, for which she requires a long, continuous physical therapy journey.

Zeina with her dad. This picture is from a month before the genocide began when we traveled to Sharm El Sheikh to spend some family time together. The occupation destroyed our beautiful family and killed Zeina’s two cousins who she enjoyed spending time with very much.

My daughter Zeina, who was only one year old, spent 30 minutes of her life under the rubble. She was calling “Mama, mama, mama…” but Heba could not reach her because she herself was under the rubble, too. It was the worst thing to ever happen to me. Since then, Zeina would not sleep except if she’s in my embrace, holding my finger in her hand. Till today, she still wakes up crying and screaming from nightmares attacking her in her sleep.

Your help for Zeina and her family to rebuild their lives after the several atrocities they endured will ensure they restart their lives from the ground up with at least some financial support. This support will go into rebuilding their home, place of work, and expenses endured during the treatment journey.

Zeina, whose face is always joyful and smiling, had her picture while she was rescued by the first responders all over the internet and the media. We had hoped that one day Zeina would be famous for her success and accomplishments, but the occupation decided otherwise.
All we hope for, like any other ordinary family, is to finish our treatment and go back to rebuild our small house to contain us and our memories once more.

Every dollar brings us closer to ensuring that my family can meet their basic needs.
