Please save Angie’s vision.

Hi, I am Sherry, I am fundraising for my granddaughter who is in great need of your help.
Angie was born with Spina Bifida. Though born without the use of her legs, this feisty thirteen year old has always had a fierce and independent spirit.
After weeks of unexplained migraines, last Monday, Angie’s mother found Angie in her room, her head falling back and her body seizing. In the ambulance, Angie’s mother, Ashley, braced the paramedic onto the gurney so the paramedic could breathe air into Angie’s lungs, keeping her alive until they could get to the hospital.
The ER did not have the resources necessary to save Angie’s life. She was Life Flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital where she received life saving brain surgery. A shunt that had recently been replaced was not draining properly, causing her brain to swell.
As the result of this traumatic brain injury, Angie has lost most of her sight and the right side of her face is paralyzed. She suffers from severe dizziness, light and noise sensitivity, and severe anxiety.
Throughout Angie’s life, through hundreds of hours of physical therapy and her inspiringly stubborn drive, she learned to move around independently, first learning to roll over, to crawl, to walk with crutches, and to use her wheelchair without assistance. She learned to bathe herself, change her own catheter and to live her life as independently as possibly. Now, she will have to relearn all of the skills she has spent her lifetime building.
Angie is funny and sassy and smart with a delightfully sarcastic yet upbeat attitude. She is outgoing and always greets company with a wide, bright smile. Angie is a regular thirteen year old girl, but she is also an extraordinary one.
The Talbot family needs your help. They are hoping to raise 25K to help cover the costs of therapy needed to retrain her brain and eyes to help her regain her sight, and also to help with the travel costs to and from the specialists that can help her. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated towards the financial burden they are facing. Even the smallest donation is a donation of love.
