Hi everyone,
Jason and I are blown away by the support and donations we have recieved in just a short time. Heres a little back story about us...
Jason and I are childhood sweethearts. We met at just 16 years old. We got married in 2018 and have four beautiful children. Brooke, Sophie, Chase and of course Lily our sassy little princess. Brooke and Sophie were born sleeping, Jason and I were young only 18 and 19 years. This was one of the first tragedies that ever happened in Jasons life. We were told your young youll get over it, Thats the attidude a lot of the Irish have towards mental health and its outrageous.
Jason has always worked in a job where he can help people. He was always pationate about helping others in all aspects of life, he was a gym instructor, life guard, Soldier, Paramedic (Public,Private and Voluntary with Civil Defence), Diabetic Specialist, Search & Rescue, Former Special Olympic Swim Coach Volunteer, Helium Arts Paramedic for North Cork. Just to name a few!
Jason has been exposed to years of trauma from life and work. To think in that moment of exposure at work Jason was trying to save a persons life. Jason reached out to a crisis team back in 2018 in Liverpool when he was employed by the NHS. He still hasnt recieved corespondance. We have reached out to all Jasons past employers for help to be met with sorry we are unable to help you. Jason started to drop his mask and act back in september 2023. He worked a horendous RTC and unfortunatley a fatality. When he returned I knew something had changed that day. The Jason I know and love was slipping away. As the weeks went on Jason got worse. We got him referred for the Mental health clinic and Jason has met with the Psychiatrist twice where Jason has been given medication to help with the symptoms and has been refferred to someone but it could take years for Jason to be seen and he may not even be the right guy for him. His Psychiatrist said Jason is in crisis and needs help now and our GP agreed. That if we had the funds we should head for America. When looking at the treatment centres the cost was so over whelming I litterally felt like I was having a heart attack. We dont have that kind of money. Im determined to get Jason the help he needs. So thats why I set up the page. The cost depends on the lenght of stay needed. The cheapest we came across was €35,000 and thats for 4 weeks only!
I dont want to loose the love of my life because our health system is a shambles. I refuse to.
He's the most amazing husband, and the greatest dad that I could have ever asked for, he has fought so hard and is still trying to fight this but the odds are stacked against him.
Now Jason can't leave the house if he does he has a panic attack. He can't go back to work, so now he feels even more strain getting behind on bills feeling like he's failing us when he never could.
I would be forever greatful if you could please please please help me save him, he has made such a positive difference in this world and I feel we cannot let this hero down! That's what he is to our family he's our everything. Please help me help him.
I know times are tough for everyone but anything you can donate even just €1 will help us toward the treatment that he is in dyer need of. Please share the link with friends, family and on socials
Thank you. Sonia x
