Please support baby Isla Solum

On Tuesday, June 7th, mommy Julianne went to Christiana Hospital to have an External Cephalic Version performed to flip baby Isla as she was breech in mommy's belly. The procedure was successful; however, upon monitoring Isla's status, it was decided that labor would be induced due to Isla's fluctuating heart rate. Mommy was given labor-inducing medication, and a short time later, they broke her water. At that time, baby Isla's heart rate dropped, and she was not recovering, so an emergency c-section was ordered.
Baby Isla Quinn Solum was born at 12:35 pm on Tuesday, June 7th, at 7 lbs 13 oz, and she was not breathing. Doctors immediately intubated her and began emergency treatment. Baby Isla has been in the Christiana NICU since birth, intubated on a ventilator, and, among other therapies, is undergoing induced hypothermia to help mitigate any potential additional brain injury due to her lack of oxygen. They are treating her for 'Newborn Hypoxic -Ischemic Encephalopathy' aka HIE. Due to the lack of oxygen, baby Isla is also having problems with her kidneys, liver, right lung and heart. Injuries to these organs have caused some secondary complications that are also being monitored and treated, including but not limited to infection, pulmonary hypertension and clotting problems. Baby Isla may be in the NICU for an undetermined amount of weeks.
As you can imagine, the coming weeks are going to be difficult for our family as we navigate daily life caring for our other two small children, Savannah and Harrison, with Adam working and Julianne on reduced income, traveling to and from the NICU on a daily basis. If you feel led to contribute to help us with gas, meals on the road and the impending medical bills, we would be forever grateful. If you would like to give blood/plasma donations, we would love to be able to give back as Isla has received some herself. Please pray for our sweet baby girl. We love her dearly! Thank you...
