Support Basem’s Journey to Safety &Rebuild His Family’s Life

Donation protected
My name is Mayra, and I live in the USA. I’m helping a Palestinian friend, Basem, and his family, who have been devastated by the crisis in Gaza, to evacuate and cover basic necessities, as the cost of everything is extremely high. Many families in Gaza lack support to set up fundraising accounts, so I’m volunteering on Basem’s behalf.
Basem, a Physical Therapist, had his home and workplace destroyed and was forced to live in a tent with his family. He is raising funds to escape Gaza, reunite with his wife and daughters, and afford essential needs.
I kindly ask for your help in spreading the word. Every share and donation brings Basem closer to safety and survival. Together, we can make a difference and offer hope.

Basem’s story in his own words:
I am Basem Jarghoun from Gaza, a physical therapist and father of two young daughters, Mariam (2 years old) and Sarah (8 months old). Our home and the physical therapy center where I worked were destroyed in the war on Gaza. After the birth of my second child under harsh conditions, my family and I faced continuous hardships, including no water, electricity, or food. The mosque next to our house was bombed, causing further damage and minor injuries to us. We fled to a tent in Rafah with 25 people, enduring extreme weather, lack of clean water, and food scarcity.

My children frequently fell ill due to contamination and lack of proper nutrition. We suffered greatly, losing weight, and facing high prices for essentials. Eventually, we had to move again to Mawasi Khan Yunis, incurring significant costs.

My daughters and wife managed to reach Egypt for safety, but I couldn’t join them due to restrictions and high costs. They have been away for months, and I am desperate to reunite with them. Additionally, I have more family in Gaza; my mother, siblings, brothers-in-law, and father-in-law, who are all struggling to even eat a healthy meal due to severe food scarcity and extremely high prices.

I lost my job and all my savings, and now I dream of meeting my family again and starting afresh in a safe place. Your support, no matter how small, can make a big difference in reuniting us and ensuring our safety. Please share our story with your friends and family.

UPDATES 12/12/2024:
It has now been over a year of relentless conflict, and the struggle to find basic necessities is unimaginable. Flour alone costs $200, and we haven’t had a proper meal in weeks. Our bodies are weak, and our spirits are shattered from the constant hardship. The exhaustion is overwhelming, both physically and mentally. Every day feels like a battle just to survive. We are holding on to the hope that this nightmare will end soon, but we need your help more than ever to give us a chance at a future, to be able to feed our children and family and to finally reunite with my family in safety. Please, any support you can offer means the world to us. We can’t do this without you.
