Please support John Slaton after a 30’ fall!
Donation protected
On December 13, 2023, my brother, John Slaton, was involved in a work accident. He fell over 30 feet off of scaffolding while carrying heavy materials landing on the concrete. He has a shattered arm and wrist, a broken pelvis, a broken hip, and facial injuries. His initial surgery added 18 metal plates with pins and cadaver bones to repair his wrist. He will undergo additional surgeries including more surgeries on his wrist.
He will be unable to walk for over three months. His wife, Miranda, recently graduated from nursing school but has been home with him for several weeks since his release from the hospital. He needs extensive care, and his family needs to work on finding ways to help him as he only has one working limb, his right arm.
They are looking for help with basic needs right now as they navigate the unknown, work towards helping him at home, and establish a routine that will allow his wife to work.
There will be months of healing ahead along with physical therapy and occupational therapy. He is an independent contractor, so he doesn't have the protection he would have under an employer, such as paid leave. He and his wife have three children; the youngest just turned two last month.
Your support and prayers would be greatly appreciated!
