Join Us In Supporting Kelly's Fight Against Cancer

The past few weeks have been a complete whirlwind as we have learned of Kelly’s breast cancer diagnosis. After the initial diagnosis she had a full body PET scan which showed that the cancer is stage 4 metastatic and has spread to her bones. As you can imagine, we are all still in shock as we are processing this news, however we remain positive as we stand by Kelly while she begins her treatment and journey to healing. We are learning a lot as she navigates through many medical appointments, and we are thankful for all of the doctors who have been so helpful already. However, Kelly and Steve would like to get a second and potentially a third opinion outside of her primary insurance carrier to explore alternative treatment options and to ensure that Kelly is indeed on the most effective treatment plan possible. The medical premiums associated with insurance providers outside of her covered plan are astronomical, along with the holistic treatment that Kelly is also seeking outside of Western medicine to boost her immune system.

Kelly and her husband Steve met in college at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 20 years ago, were married in 2009, and have three awesome boys, an 8 year old, 6 year old, and 2 year old. Both work locally and are very involved in the church community along with little league, soccer, cub scouts and swim with their boys.

As Kelly undergoes medical treatment and Steve and Kelly continue to navigate through many doctor appointments and procedures, staying on top of the house cleaning, grocery shopping, and meals may become difficult for them. Kelly will also be on a very specialized diet as part of her whole body treatment plan, and she may want to look into hiring some help with her specialized meals.

We all know and love just how strong and determined Kelly is, which brings us much hope as we know she’ll carry these awesome qualities with her as she starts her treatment. Kelly’s perseverance, along with the love and support of her husband Steve, their three amazing boys, extended families, friends, colleagues, the community, and their faith, will help Kelly to get through this.
