On June 7, 2019, Lee Puglisi, my dearest friend since kindergarten, lost the light of his life when his eight-year-old daughter Dorothy “Dory” Puglisi was killed.
Dory’s first day of summer vacation was off to a great start. She, her best friend Emma, as well as Emma’s mother Madelene Quissek were returning from a movie around 6 pm when a 2015 Toyota Rav swerved across the median and slammed head on into their 2007 Toyota Rav which carried precious Dory. Emma’s mother and Dory were pronounced dead on the scene. Emma barely survived and still remains in critical condition. The other driver, who has a history of DUIs, is recovering from multiple broken bones. The accident investigation is ongoing.
I am setting up this Go Fund Me campaign to help Lee, a single father, and Dory’s siblings 17- year-old Alex and 16-year-old Gwen get by while they struggle to adjust to a world with a gaping hole where Dory should be.
Please help me help Lee come to terms with a parent’s worst nightmare, as well as supporting the Puglisi family as they struggle to adjust to their new normal.
Thank you for reading.
With love,
Suzy Houghton
