Help Marci get a life saving lung transplant
Donation protected
Hello, I’m John. I’m creating this fundraiser for my wife Marci Webb. She’s a mother of two, grandmother of four. She has a sister and two brothers, and she’s the love of my life. She’s kind and generous, funny and caring. The world is a better place with her in it. She makes me a better person.
Marci is extremely close to her granddaughters. They love their Nana. They are her world and most importantly, she is theirs.
Marci spent the latter part of her life working in the emergency room command center at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta Georgia before retiring in 2019. She spent countless hours helping others and doing what she loved.
Now she needs my help, and yours. She was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017. She has miraculously exceeded her life expectancy, but sadly, this disease has quickly progressed over the last year and she needs a lung transplant to survive. To add insult to injury, during her preliminary testing, they have found cancerous nodules in her right lung. Her need for a transplant is more dire now than ever.
She will have to endure an 8-10 hour surgery at Emory Hospital. Next comes a 2-4 week stay in the ICU, a ventilator, chest tube, feeding tube, ECMO, and fighting the numerous infections and complications that can come along with this operation.
After her time in the ICU, she will be moved to a transplant patient room where more tests, lab work, and X-rays will continue to be done. Then, god willing, if all goes well, she would be discharged after a 25-30 day stay. Even then, Marci will not be able to go home. She will be required to spend 3-6 months living within 5 miles of Emory hospital for the numerous follow up appointments and the inevitable trips to the emergency room. So we will have to find temporary accommodations close to the hospital.
All funds raised here will go towards housing, food, transportation, parking fees, and medications (20-25 pills per day) that she will possibly be taking for the rest of her life. We will also need to board our 11 year old dog for the majority of this time.
Marci doesn’t ask for anything from anyone, so I will ask/beg you for your kindness and your help. Please help us save her life. Help her be able to watch her grandchildren grow up and allow those of us who love her dearly to have her with us for a long time to come.
So on behalf of her siblings, daughters, grandchildren, and myself, allow me, with my whole heart, to thank you for taking the time to read this, share this, and giving Marci the chance to breathe and live again.
God bless you all
