Please Support My Dad, Quyen Hoang, in His Final Days
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that on August 12th, my dad, Quyen Hoang, was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer that has spread to his lungs and lymph nodes. Since then, he has been in the ICU, as they ran tests, stabilized him, underwent surgery, and finally a biopsy that revealed that chemotherapy would not be an option. While my dad is still with us, we were given a very short approximation of his time left with us. After many talks with doctors and family, the most compassionate choice for my dad is to receive palliative care at home surrounded by his loving family. He will begin hospice care this week. Together, we are planning the logistics of his burial while he is still able to choose how and where he wants to be laid to rest.
My dad is 62 and always provided for our family of 5 until he got severely sick. My dad not only provided financially, but he has been an amazing and loving dad to my brothers and I and a supportive husband to my mom. My dad loves sports and he has fortunately been able to keep up with the latest games even while in the hospital. My brother Kobe was named after Kobe Bryant and my dad’s love for sports was shared with him. My dad and I would share midnight snacks every night together, even if I burnt our food, he still happily ate it with me. My dad helped raise my brother Kevin to be generous and hardworking like himself. My loving dad and mom have been married for over 30 years and raised three kids together.
The doctors gave us less than a month to be with our dad. Now, it is our turn to take care of him in the limited time we have left together.
My family and I ask that you support us in this journey with prayers and any donations for the impending financial strain of medical and funeral costs. We will greatly appreciate anything and we sincerely thank you for your support, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. With love, from the Hoang Family.
