Please Support Nati's "Ride Taxi" Business in Ethiopia

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Nati. I am from Ethiopia. I grew up in Lalibela, in a small town where children are encouraged to tend cattle instead of pursuing education. My family are peasant farmers. They were not familiar with the concept of education until some wise individuals explained it to me. This led me to move to Lalibela town to pursue my education.

Currently, I am living in Addis Ababa due to the conflict in the Amhara Region in Lalibela. I am here in a safer place to protect myself. My family is currently struggling due to the economic crisis and the conflict. And now, I am planning to help my family by starting a small business because the unemployment rate in Ethiopia is 22.5%.

I am planning to start a small Taxi business, which is called Ride Taxi business, one of the best businesses currently in Addis Ababa. It will help commuters and tourists to have taxi access. The total amount needed to start the business is 18,000 United States Dollars, and I am trying to raise funds. Thank you so much for listening to my story.

Note from Organizer:

Dear Friends,

My name is David Simon, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my 20-year-old friend, Nati Belemene, from Ethiopia. I met Nati playing volleyball with his friends while I was traveling in Lalibela several years ago, and we've stayed in touch.

Nati comes from a peasant family and has faced numerous challenges in his pursuit of education and a better life for himself and his family. Despite these hardships, he is determined to make a difference in his community by starting a taxi service in Addis Ababa. We need your support to help Nati raise $18,000 to make his dream a reality.

Nati's Story

Nati grew up in a rural area where education is not prioritized, and children are often encouraged to tend to cattle rather than attend school. However, with the guidance of some wise individuals, Nati recognized the importance of education and moved to Lalibela to pursue his studies. Despite his efforts and sacrifices, the ongoing conflict and economic challenges in Ethiopia have made it difficult for him to continue his education.

Nati's family is struggling to meet basic needs due to the high unemployment rate in Ethiopia, which is more than 23%. The conflict has severely impacted tourism, a key industry in Ethiopia, further limiting job opportunities. Under these circumstances, Nati has decided to start a small business to support his family and pursue his educational goals.

The Business Plan

Nati plans to start a taxi service using a Toyota Vitz to provide reliable and affordable transportation in Addis Ababa and its surrounding areas. The Vitz taxi service is in high demand as it offers a convenient mode of transportation for both residents and tourists. Nati has researched the market and identified a significant opportunity to serve both local commuters and tourists, leveraging his contacts in the tourism sector.

Funding Needs

The total amount needed to start Nati's taxi service is $18,000. This will cover the cost of purchasing a used Toyota Vitz, insurance, registration fees, and initial operating expenses. Here is a breakdown of the costs:

  • Toyota Vitz (used): $17,000
  • Insurance: $560
  • Registration Fee: $60
  • Additional startup costs: $380
