Our Miracle

On Wednesday July 26th, I got the phone call no one ever wants to hear. My mom had collapsed and was being taken by ambulance. After getting to the hospital there was numerous tests run on her to determine if she was having a heart attack. After getting a CT scan it was determined that her thoracic aortic aneurysm had ruptured and was causing her valve to rip away from her heart. She needed to be transferred for emergency surgery which ultimately led to her being life flighted to Legacy Emanuel. She underwent a 7 hour open heart surgery while her family slept in the ICU waiting room, praying that we could keep her one more day. And praise the Lord he answered! Her doctor came out around 5am to let us know her surgery was successful and she now had a mechanical valve replacing the part that had ruptured and torn. She went on to spend the next 3 days in ICU and then another 5 in a regular room learning how to walk again and have the strength to get home. There’s an 8 week road to recovery, and we’re blessed to have an army of prayer warriors and supporters behind us. As you can imagine the hospital bills are going to start pouring in and if you feel so inclined as to give in support of our family during this time it would be very appreciated. We can’t wait to have our mom home and healthy again. Thank you!
