Please support Oxford police officer after violent attack

On June 25, 2024, Sergeant Joseph Correia of the Oxford Police Department was the victim of a horrific attack while he was unloading his vehicle after a visit to the beach with his 7 year old son. Sgt. Correia was deliberately struck by the assailants truck and then physically assaulted, leaving him with several injuries that will require surgery to his face and an extended recovery period.

Sgt. Correia is a veteran law enforcement officer with over 12 years of service. He is known for his dedication to public service and his commitment to keeping his community safe. This devastating incident occurred while he was off-duty, and the Maine State Police are currently investigating it and have made an arrest.

The medical bills and recovery costs related to this attack will place a substantial financial burden on Sgt. Correia and his family. This GoFundMe campaign has been established to help cover his hospital fees, surgery, physical therapy, and other expenses during this difficult time as he focuses on healing.
